WOMEN'S COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: TIOGA GRAD COLE OFF TO STRONG START AT MARYWOOD (2017-04-12)
Valley Sports Report SCRANTON — Tioga grad Kelby Cole, a junior on the Marywood University women’s track & field team, has a pair of top-six finishes to her credit early in the spring season.
In Marywood’s season opener on March 25 at Susquehanna University’s Jim Taylor Invitational, Cole finished fifth in the 10K in a time of 42:29.36.
At Widener College on April 1 , Cole battled wind and a cold rain to finish sixth in a field of 27 in the 5K in a time of 19:28.48. She finished 26th out of 68 participants in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:09.26.
Saturday, at the Coach P Invitational at Moravian College, Cole finished 12th in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:16.13. She was 23rd in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:35.37.
