Valley Sports Report
KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Tioga grad Dakota Skinner, a junior on the Keuka College baseball team, got off to a hot start in his first 10 games. Since then, he’s been even hotter and is in the midst of a 14-game hitting streak.

Skinner has 17 hits in his last 32 at-bats, and had a string of seven consecutive multi-hit games snapped Saturday in a game that saw him double in three at-bats.

Skinner has raised his batting average from .389 through 10 games to .456 through 18 games. On the season, he has 31 hits in 68 at-bats with 13 runs scored, 12 RBI, and two stolen bases.

His .456 average is second in the Northeast Athletic Conference (NEAC).

Skinner has 12 multi-hit games in his 18 starts, including a pair of three-hit games. He also has a hit in 17 of 18 games this season.

Since their return from a season opening Florida trip, the Wolves have won six out of eight games to improve to 9-9 on the season.

Skinner best game of the stretch was a 3-for-5 effort in a 22-1 win over Alfred State. He double, scored two runs, drove in three runs, and stole a base in the win.

The following day, he stroked a pair of singles in five at-bats and scored two runs in an 11-10 win over Medaille. He also made a diving catch that stranded the tying run on third base to end the game.

On Saturday, Skinner was 2-for-3 with two walks, a run scored, and two RBI in a 9-6 win over Houghton College. In the nightcap, Skinner doubled in three at-bats in a 13-2 loss.

Keuka College returns to action Tuesday when it hosts R.I.T.
