WAVERLY — Waverly garnered five first-team selections on the IAC South Large School all-star teams, and four more second-team picks in recent voting by the division’s coaches.
Seniors Brendyn Stillman, Dylan Cooney, and Hunter Bodine, along with junior Eithan McEnulty, and sophomore Bradey Roney were the Wolverines’ first-team honorees, while seniors Nate Bennett, Zach VanHouten, and Devin Garrison, and sophomore Tyler Croft were named to the second team.
Brendyn Stillman, CF, Waverly: After a slow start, Stillman rebounded to hit .387 (24 hits in 62 ABs) with 10 doubles, one triple, and three RBI. He scored 24 runs, had 15 RBI, and stole 18 bases.
He had a .480 on-base percentage, a .726 slugging percentage and a 1.206 OPS.
Dylan Cooney, 2B, Waverly: Cooney hit .397 (25 hits in 63 ABs) with one double, and one triple. He had 23 runs scored, 12 RBI, and 10 stolen bases.
Bradey Roney, P, Waverly: Roney pitched against the top teams in the IAC, and posted a 5-0 record on the season with an 0.83 ERA. He pitched 42 innings, allowing just 23 hits, while striking out 39 and walking 13. Opponents hit just .153 against him.
Eithan McEnulty, 3B, Waverly: McEnulty hit .306 (11 hits in 36 ABs) with one double, and one triple. He scored 11 runs, had nine RBI, and stole eight bases.
Hunter Bodine, SS, Waverly: In a return to the diamond for the first time since junior high, Bodine hit .344 (21 hits in 61 ABs) with five doubles and two triples. He had 16 RBI, 15 stolen bases, and 16 runs scored.
Nate Bennett, OF, Waverly: Bennett hit .321 (17 hits in 53 ABs) with 10 doubles. He had 17 RBI, scored 15 runs, and stole 12 bases.
Tyler Croft, P, Waverly: Croft was 5-1 with a 1.91 ERA on the season. He allowed 25 hits in 25 2/3 innings, while striking out 25 and walking nine. Opponents hit .250 against him.
Zach VanHouten, 1B, Waverly: VanHouten hit .311 (19 hits in 61 ABs) with five doubles, one triple, and two home runs. He scored 25 runs, had 22 RBI, and stole 14 bases.
Devin Garrison, P, Waverly: Garrison was 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA. He allowed 30 hits in 25 2/3 innings, while striking out 28 and walking just five. Opponents hit .278 against him.
