COLLEGE SOFTBALL: WAVERLY GRAD MENNIG ADDS ANOTHER POSTSEASON HONOR — FIRST-TEAM ALL-AMERICAN (2017-06-11)
Valley Sports Report CORNING — Waverly grad Sam Mennig, a recent Corning Community College grad, was recently named a 2017 NFCA Junior College Division III first team All-American by the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association).
Mennig was named the choice for the utility spot on the team after batting .521 with 54 runs scored, 61 hits, 19 doubles and 10 home runs and 46 RBI.
After leading the Red Barons to a 26-8 record and a spot in the Regional Finals, Mennig shared MSAC Conference Player of the Year honors with team Haley Williamson of Horseheads, and both were named to the NJCAA Region III First team.
As a freshman, Mennig was a second team All-American.
