WASHINGTON, D.C. — Waverly grad Peyton Miller, a sophomore QB on the Utica College football team, threw for 178 yards and ran for 44 more, but the Pioneers dropped a 16-10 decision to Catholic University here Saturday afternoon in non-league Division III college football action.
Miller completed 15 of 26 passes, including a 39-yard completion, but was intercepted twice. He ran the ball 15 times, including an 11-yard run.
Catholic led 17-0 at the half, but Miller directed the Pioneers on a drive for a field goal early in the third quarter, and a three-play, 74-yard TD drive late in the third quarter.
Utica College, now 1-1, travels to Alfred University Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
