SAYRE  Sayre scored a pair of quick goals, then put the game away in the second half to post a 5-0 win over Towanda here Thursday afternoon in NTL girls soccer action at the Lockhart Street Bowl.

Senior Kirsten Covey, off a feed from sophomore Abby Moliski, put the Lady Redskins on the board about 8 1/2 minutes into the game.

About 4 1/2 minutes later, junior Stephanie Klovekorn scored to make it 2-0 off an assist from freshman GabbI Randall.

The Sayre defense limited Towanda to just two shots-on-goal in the first 40 minutes and led 2-0 at the half.

Just 2 1/2 minutes into the second half, Moliski scored an unassisted goal to make it 3-0.

Klovekorn scored her second goal of the game on a free kick with 16:42 left in the contest to push the lead to 4-0, then senior Madisyn Wheeler capped the scoring 90 seconds later.

Sayre had a 13-10 advantage in shots-on-goal, while Towanda had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.

Senior Blair Wampole two saves in the first half for the Lady Redskins, and junior Camry Lane had eight saves in the second half.

Sayre, now 4-1, returns to action Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Athens.
