THE VALLEY — The Athens boys return home this afternoon after playing three of their first four games on the road, and three — Waverly, Tioga, and Sayre — of the Valley volleyball teams are home as well to highlight Wednesday’s slate of action.

BOYS SOCCER
Liberty (1-1) at Athens (3-0-1), 5:30 p.m.:
The Wildcats are coming off a 5-0 win over Galeton Tuesday, while the Liberty topped Northern Potter, 3-1.

Last year, Athens won at Liberty, 4-1.

GIRLS SOCCER
Tioga (0-5) at Newfield (0-4), 4:30 p.m.:
The Lady Tigers are coming off a 9-0 loss to Groton on the turf at TC3 Tuesday night.

Last year, Tioga rolled over Newfield, 6-1, for their only win of the season on Sept. 29. Five days later, Newfield beat Tioga at home, 2-1.

VOLLEYBALL
Newfield at Waverly (3-1), 5 p.m. JV start:
The Lady Wolverines are coming off a 3-2 loss at Newark Valley, while the Lady Trojans led a 2-1 lead slip away in a 3-2 home loss to Watkins Glen.

Last year, Waverly posted a pair of lopsided sweeps of Newfield.

Tioga (5-0) at O-M, 5 p.m. JV start: The Lady Tigers are coming off a 3-1 win over non-league foe Chenango Valley Tuesday night, while the Lady Indians dropped a 3-0 decision at home to Candor.

Last year, Tioga swept O-M twice in convincing fashion. In six games, O-M scored more than 10 points just once.

NEB (0-3) at Sayre (1-2), 6 p.m. JV start: The Lady Redskins are coming off a 3-1 loss to Wyalusing Tuesday, while the Lady Panthers were swept at home by Troy.

Last year, Sayre posted a pair of dominating sweeps of NEB.

S-VE (1-3) at Watkins Glen, 5 p.m. JV start: The Lady Panthers were swept at Edison Tuesday, while the Lady Senecas rallied for a 3-2 win at Newfield.

Last year, S-VE dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions to Watkins Glen.

GIRLS SWIMMING
Waverly (2-0) at Southern Cayuga, 4:30 p.m.:
The Lady Wolverines are coming off a 98-55 win over Notre Dame.

Last year, Kennedy Wheeler won four events to lead Waverly to a 92-69 win.
