SPENCER  S-VE shrugged off a loss in the third set to post a 4-1 win over Newfield here Tuesday night in IAC volleyball action.

The Lady Panthers won the first set 25-20, then rolled to a 25-8 win in the second set.

Newfield bounced back with a 25-19 win in the third set, but S-VE closed out the win with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.

Tara Perkins led S-VE with 22 service points, including 12 aces, and four kills, while Jamie Sayre had nine points (two aces), three kills, one block, and three digs, and Lindsey Greene had nine points (three aces), nine kills, and five digs.

Maralee Rose added six points for the Lady Panthers, while Kassidy Egan had four points (two aces), and Alexis Smith had two points and 13 setter assists.

Kylee Reed led Newfield with nine service aces, while Jake Brown had three aces and 18 digs, Kelly Moravec had six assists and four kills, and Katie Moravec added five assists and three kills.

S-VE, now 4-8, returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Edison.

JV: Newfield swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-22 and 25-22.
