WOMEN'S COLLEGE SOCCER: S-VE GRAD PRICE, ATHENS GRAD WARNER NAMED TO ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM (2017-11-07)

Valley Sports Report
CORNING — S-VE grad Morgan Price, and Athens grad Mackenzie Warner were both voted to the 2017 All-MSAC women’s soccer team recently.

The Lady Red Barons saw the best season in school history end last week with a 2-1 loss to Hudson Valley Community College in the Region III semifinals. Corning captured its first-ever Mid-State Athletic Conference title, and set a school record for wins.

Price, a sophomore, set a new school-record with eight shutouts this season, and allowed just 14 goals in 15 games. She recorded 88 saves.

“Her play in the net was phenomenal and her consistency gave us a chance to win every match,” said Corning CC coach Kyle Leach.

Warner, a sophomore, scored 13 goals and doled out a team-high 12 assists, while controlling the midfield for the Lady Red Barons. She was third on the team in goals, and third on team with 38 points.

“Most every offensive run we had ran through Mack,” said Leach. “Her ability to see the field and sense where her teammates were was uncanny and a large part of this season’s success.”
