WOMEN'S COLLEGE SWIMMING: WAVERLY GRAD MADIGAN NOTCHES FIVE WINS IN FIRST THREE COLLEGIATE MEETS (2017-11-07)
Valley Sports Report UTICA, N.Y. — Waverly grad Kelcey Madigan, a freshman on the Utica College women’s swim team, is off to a fast start, racking up five wins in her first three meets, including three first-place finishes in the Lady Pioneers’ last meet.
On Saturday, Madigan won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:15.39, and the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:42.42. She also swam on the winning 200-yard medley relay as Utica recorded wins over Roberts Wesleyan and Wells College.
On Oct. 28, Madigan notched her first collegiate win in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:48.73. She was also a part of the first-place 200-yard freestyle relay in Utica’s home loss to William Smith College.
In her first collegiate meet on Oct. 21, Madigan finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:14.91. in a quad-meet at SUNY Oneonta.
Utica College returns to action Friday when it hosts Herkimer College and Cazenovia College in a tri-meet.
