SCHOLASTIC SOCCER: ATHENS STANDOUT LANE NAMED UNITED SOCCER COACHES REGIONAL ALL-AMERICAN (2017-12-05)
Valley Sports Report ATHENS — Athens senior Ethan Lane added another accolade to a long list recently when he was named United Soccer Coaches Regional All-American.
Lane was eligible for the honor after being named the NTL’s all-state player by the league’s coaches.
He is one of only 15 players in the region to earn All-American honors. The region includes New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
Lane, who was a four-year letterman and a four-time NTL all-star, played on four league title teams, and the program’s only District 4 title team. He will graduate as Athens’ all-time leading goal scorer.
He joins former Athens standout Ryan Segar as the only two Wildcat players to earn Regional All-American honors.
