WAVERLY — Waverly pulled out an emotional 48-42 win over Notre Dame here Tuesday evening in IAC South Large School junior varsity boys basketball action.
In the wake of the death of one of the player’s mothers, the junior Wolverines won their first game of the season.

Thomas Price led Waverly with 15 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, and Peyton Bowen had nine points, eight steals, and four rebounds.
“Thomas (Price) played exceptionally well under the circumstances,” said Croft. “It was the best game of his young career in honor of his mother.
