NTL SWIMMING: ATHENS GIRLS, BOYS FALL TO POWERHOUSE LEWISBURG TEAMS (2018-01-10)

LEWISBURG  The powerhouse Lewisburg swim teams posted wins over Athens and Towanda here Wednesday evening in non-league District 4 swimming action.

The Lewisburg boys topped Athens 82-20, while the Lady Dragons beat the Lady Wildcats 63-39.

GIRLS
The Lady Wildcats won two events in a 63-39 loss to Lewisburg.

Senior Abigail Thoman won the 1-meter diving competition with 181.05 points, and senior Taylor Reynard finished second with 164.65 points.

The foursome of seniors Kendra Gorsline and Selkie Bishop, sophomore Lauren Nevill, and freshman Amy Jarvis won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:51.59

Bishop finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.78 seconds. She also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:01.3, and freshman Allyson Rockwell was fourth in 1:07.77.

Jarvis finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:13.67. She also finished third in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:00.91

Nevill finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:13.29, and sophomore Sierra Ardrey was fourth in 1:23.2.

Gorsline finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:12.43, and junior Ashtyn Allen was fourth in 1:29.79. Gorsline also finished third in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:44.19, and Nevill was fourth in 2:44.28

Rockwell finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:29.72

BOYS
Senior Shawn Shaw recorded three second-place finishes for the Wildcats in an 82-20 loss to Lewisburg.

Shaw finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.31 seconds. He was also second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.85.

He teamed with seniors Andrew Juhola, and Rohnin Bishop, and freshman Mason Henderson to finish second in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:56.94.

Bishop finished third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:16.05, and Juhola finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.83 seconds.

Sophomore Doug Vosburg finished fourth in the 1-meter diving competition with 110.6 points, while freshman Joe Toscano finished fourth in the 100-yard back style in a time of 1:38.31, and junior Robert Kisner finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:26.48.

Athens returns to action Friday when it hosts Bloomsburg.
