WATKINS GLEN After losing the first game, Waverly rallied for a 3-1 win over Odessa-Montour, and its eighth consecutive Large School Division title here Tuesday afternoon in IAC boys bowling action at Harborside Lanes.
The Wolverines entered the day with Watkins Glen tied atop the division standings, but the Senecas dropped a 2.5-1.5 decision to Tioga at the Valley Bowling Center.
O-M won the first game 757-733, but Waverly bounced back with wins of 922-704, and 977-796 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,632 to 2,257.
Sophomore Derrick Canfield led Waverly with a 591 series, including games of 224, and 222, while senior Nick Briggs shot a 582, including games of 206 and 229, and senior Chris Johnson had a 553.
Seventh-grader Zach Vanderpool rolled a 470 for the Wolverines, while senior Logan Bowman added a 431, and freshman Matt Mauersberg tacked on a 398.
Eric Rumsey led O-M with a 534 series.
Waverly, which finishes the season at 50-14, returns to action Saturday at the IAC Championships.
