THE VALLEY — The New York postseason kicks into gear today with the Section IV, Class B wrestling championships at Delhi High School, and the Section IV Indoor Track & Field Championships at Cornell.

The IAC Bowling championships will also be contested this afternoon at the Valley Bowling Center.

WRESTLING
Section IV, Class B Championships, 10 a.m. @ Delhi H.S.:
Tioga, SVEC, and Waverly will join 10 other schools today in the Class B Championships.

Tioga seniors Trey Floyd and Max Johnson, juniors Austin Lamb and John Worthing, and sophomore Jacob Welch, and Brady Worthing are the top seeds in their respective brackets, and SVEC seniors Grady Alpert and Bryant Sexton are also atop their weight classes. The top eight place-winners advance to next weekend's Section IV, Division 2 Championships.

BOYS BOWLING
IAC Championships, 1 p.m. @ Valley Bowling Center, Waverly:
The Large School champion Waverly Wolverines, and the Small School champion Tioga Tigers lead the boys competitors into action at the league championships.

While Waverly and Tioga, who finished second and third, respectively, last year, are heavy favorites, defending champion Union Springs and Watkins Glen could challenge for a title.

Tioga senior Jake Robertson (217.67) posted the high average this season in the IAC, while Waverly senior Nick Briggs (215.65) was second, Waverly sophomore Derrick Canfield (205.74) was fifth, Tioga junior Jason Sherman (203.62) was sixth, and Waverly 7th-grader Zach Vanderpool (198.56) was ninth.

GIRLS BOWLING
IAC Championships, 1 p.m. @ Valley Bowling Center, Waverly:
The Waverly Lady Wolverines will look to defend their title, while the Tioga Lady Tigers look to improve on last year’s fourth-place finish.

Waverly senior Cassy Bowman (197.83) posted the high average in the IAC this season, while Tioga junior Taylor Robertson (169.63) was fourth, Waverly sophomore Mackenzie Plouse (161.17) was seventh, Waverly senior Chenelle Huddleston (157.85) was ninth, and Tioga senior Emily Birney (151.93) was 11th.

INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Section IV Championships, 9 a.m. @ Cornell Univ.:
Melina Ortiz, Stephanie Hyland, Issac Chandler and Collin Wright lead a young contingent of Wolverines into action this morning at the Section IV Indoor Track & Field Championships.
