THE VALLEY — Fifteen wrestlers will punch their tickets to the New York State Division 2 wrestling championships this afternoon at the Section IV event at the Watkins Glen Field House.

The Waverly boys look to bring home another title today as they host the IAC Swimming & Diving Championships, and the Waverly and Tioga boys bowlers compete in the Section IV Class Championships at Vestal’s Midway Lanes.

WRESTLING
Tioga, SVEC, and Waverly @ Division 2 Championships @ Watkins Glen Field House, 10 a.m.:
Tioga advanced eight into this morning’s semifinals, while SVEC advanced four, and Waverly just one.

Tioga also leads the team standings, while SVEC is in fifth place, and Waverly is in 22nd place in the 26-team field.

The semifinals are slated to begin at 11 a.m., with the finals expected to begin at 4:30 p.m.

BOYS SWIMMING
Waverly HOSTS IAC Championships, 10:30 a.m. diving — 1 p.m. swimming:
Regular-season duals champion Waverly looks to win the league meet here this afternoon.

Athens at Williamsport Invite, 9 a.m.

BOYS BOWLING
Waverly, Tioga @ Section IV Class Championships @ Midway Lanes, Vestal:
Senior Nick Briggs leads Waverly into the Class B Championships this morning, while senior Jake Robertson, a two-time state qualifier, leads Tioga into the Class C Championships.

Waverly and Tioga have already qualified for next weekend’s state qualifier by virtue of their IAC division titles.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Athens at Lourdes Regional, 1 p.m. JV start
