YOUTH BASKETBALL (BOYS): ATHENS 6TH-GRADE TRAVEL TEAM AVENGES PAIR OF DOUBLE-OVERTIME LOSSES TO HORSEHEADS (2018-03-09)

ATHENS  The Athens 6th-grade boys travel basketball team held on for a hard-fought 56-53 win over Horseheads Thursday night to avenge a pair of double-overtime losses earlier this season.

In early December, Horseheads edged Athens 51-49, and in mid-January, Athens dropped a 54-53 decision.

On Thursday, Athens led 32-23 at the half, and held on for a three-point win.
 
Evan Sickler pumped in 19 points, and Korey Miller had 17, including a trio of 3-pointers to lead Athens, added Conner Mosher scored 11 points. Addy Wheeler added four points in the win, and Jase Babcock chipped in with three points.

Athens plays in its final tournament of the season this weekend at Wyalusing.
