TIOGA JUNCTION — Williamson scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and three more in the sixth to pull away for a 7-1 win over Sayre here Wednesday afternoon in NTL softball action.

The Lady Warriors scored a run in the first and another in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead, but Sayre cut the deficit in half with a run in the top of the fifth inning.

Kirsten Covey led off the inning with a single, moved to second on a groundout, and scored on an outfield throwing error after a single by Reagan Zurn.

Emylee Yusko allowed one run on four hits in a complete-game, seven-inning performance to earn the win for the Lady Warriors. She fanned eight and walked one.

Covey stroked a pair of singles, and scored a run, while Zurn, and freshman Alyssa Murrelle each singled to account for Sayre’s four hits.

Murrelle was tagged with the loss for Sayre. She struck out four and walked four.

Sayre, now 0-3, returns to action Friday when it hosts NEB.
