BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The Valley-based Eclipse 14U travel volleyball won its pool with a 5-1 record, but lost a three-set thriller in the semifinals to finish third in the Gold Bracket here at the WEVA Rally Tournament at SUNY Brockport.

The Eclipse, under coach Sarah Heveland and assistant coach Morgan Salsman, lost their first set in pool play, but reeled off five straight victories to win their pool.

Pool Play
Eclipse 17-25, Little Red Flame 25-12

Athens’ Taylor Walker led the Eclipse with nine service points, including two aces, and two kills, and Athens’ Jenny Ryan had six points, including three aces, and two kills.

Eclipse 25-25, Shamrocks 10-16
Athens Emberlynne Kohler led the Eclipse with 10 service points, including seven aces, and two digs, while Ryan had eight points, one dig, and one assist, and Notre Dame’s Allison Post had six points, including five aces.

Sayre’s Gianna Quattrini added four points (two aces) and three digs in the win, and Athens’ Ally Martin had three points (two aces), three digs, and four kills.

Eclipse 25-25, EVC Thunder 14-17

Sayre’s Ellie Boyle led the Eclipse with 13 points, including six aces, and one assist, while Quattrini had four points, three kills, and one block, Sayre’s Maddi Bell recorded five assists, and Post chipped in with six digs.

Gold Bracket — Semifinals
Eastside Chill 27-25-17, Eclipse 25-25-15

Quattrini led the Eclipse with 17 points, including four aces, six digs, and five kills, while Martin had seven points, 18 digs, and four kills, Ryan added six points (three aces), eighth assists, six kills, and three digs, and Sayre’s Rachel Vandermark chipped in with six digs.
