SAYRE — Morgan Post pitched a two-hitter to lead Northeast Bradford to an 8-1 win over Sayre here Friday afternoon in NTL Small School softball action at Riverfront Park.

Post allowed one run, while striking out six and walking three in a complete-game, seven-inning effort.

The Lady Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second in a rally that included an RBI single by Lindsay Moore.

NEB extended its lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning on an RBI single by Jaycee Brown.

The Lady Redskins scored its only run the bottom of the third inning without the benefit of a hit. Sophomore Lexi Post walked to lead off the inning, and freshman Gabbi Randall was hit by a pitch.

After the runners moved up a base on a wild pitch, senior Alia Post laid down a squeeze bunt to plate Lexi Post.

Morgan Post helped her own cause in the fifth inning with a two-run double in a four-run rally that gave NEB a 7-1 lead.

Senior Kirsten Covey doubled, and senior Camryn Brown singled to account for Sayre’s two hits.

Brown stroked three singles, scored one run, and had two RBI to lead NEB at the plate, while McKenna Hurley tripled and doubled, and scored three runs, and Moore singled twice and drove in a run.

Sayre, now 0-4, hosts Tioga Saturday at 2 p.m.
