COLLEGE SOFTBALL: TIOGA GRAD STUBBS STARTING AT HERKIMER — NATION'S TOP-RANKED NJCAA DIV. III TEAM (2018-04-22)

HERKIMER — Entering this weekend Tioga grad Katelyn Stubbs, a freshman on the nation’s top-ranked NJCAA Division III Herkimer CC softball team, was on a bit of a hot streak over a six-game stretch.

In six games from March 28 through April 14, Stubbs had eight hits in 21 ABs, including three of her five multiple-hit games on the season. She also scored seven runs, and had two RBI in the stretch.

On the season, Stubbs is hitting .306 with 15 hits, including one triple in 49 at-bats. She has 15 runs scored, seven RBI, and has drawn nine walks for a .414 on-base percentage. In 11 league games, Stubbs is hitting .393.

Defensively, Stubbs has committed just three errors in 41 defensive chances at shortstop for a .927 fielding percentage in 18 games.

Herkimer, now 21-3, travels to Mohawk Valley Tuesday for a doubleheader.
