COLLEGE BASEBALL: TIOGA GRAD HENDERSHOT ON FIVE-GAME HIT STREAK AT PENN STATE (2018-04-22)

STATE COLLEGE — Tioga grad Parker Hendershot, a freshman on the Penn State baseball team, is currently riding a five-game hitting streak, and has raised his average to .321 on the season.

On April 14, Hendershot went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBI in a 19-8 loss to Ohio State to kick off his hit streak.

On Wednesday, Hendershot doubled and singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run in a 7-2 win over Mount St. Mary’s.

On Thursday, Hendershot singled in two at-bats, and walked three times in a 19-5 loss at Michigan.

On Saturday, Hendershot had three hits, including a double, and had three RBI in an 8-7 11-inning loss at Michigan.

On Sunday, Hendershot singled in four at-bats in a 14-2 loss at Michigan.

On the season, Hendershot has started in 15 games and played in 19. He has 18 hits in 56 at-bats with three doubles, eight runs scored, and 10 RBI. He has walked 11 times, and has a .433 on-base percentage.

Penn State, now 8-25, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Bucknell.
