IAC GIRLS GOLF: PICCO, TOMASSO LEAD WAVERLY TO WINS OVER O-M, NEWARK VALLEY, CORNING — WIN STREAK AT 91 MATCHES (2018-05-10)

ITHACA — Senior Capria Picco, and junior Alex Tomasso both carded rounds of 40 to share low-medal honors and lead Waverly to three more wins here Thursday afternoon on the par-36 front nine at Hillendale Golf Course.  

The Lady Wolverines, now 24-0 and winners of 91 consecutive matches, shot a four-player season-low aggregate score of 169 — just four shots off the school record for a road course — set at Willowcreek Golf Course on May 12, 2017.

O-M carded a 212, while Newark Valley had a 254, and Corning tallied 261.

Capria Picco and Alex Tomasso both birdied the 422-yard, par-5 fifth hole, and Alex Tomasso also birdied the 142-yard, par-3 seventh hole.

Freshman Gabby Picco shot a 44, and freshman Sidney Tomasso carded a 45 for Waverly, while senior Madison Kittle, and sophomore Gretchen Sowle shot non-scoring rounds of 51 and 54, respectively.

Senior Jillian Clark led O-M with a 41, while Sarah Fiacco led Newark Valley with a 59, and Olivia Colonna led Corning with a 59.

Waverly returns to action Friday at Watkins Glen in a quad-match that also includes Horseheads, and O-M.
