ATHENS LITTLE LEAGUE (MINORS): I-R FCU RALLIES TO TOP BISHOP'S HARDWARE, 15-9 (2018-05-14)

ATHENS — I-R FCU scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning to rally from a four-run deficit, and put the game away with five more runs in fourth in a 15-9 win over Bishop’s Hardware here Friday evening in Athens Little League Minors Division baseball action.

I-R FCU scored four runs in the bottom of the first to take a 4-2 lead, but Bishop’s bounced back with two runs in the top of the second inning to tie the game at 4-4.

After I-R FCU scored in the second inning to take a 5-4 lead, Bishop’s plated five runs in the top of the third to take a 9-5 lead.

Gordon Weaver tripled and singled, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Ryan Driesbaugh doubled and singled, and scored two runs to lead I-R FCU’s 11-hit attack, while Cooper Robinson singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in a run, and Braden Quinn singled, and scored three runs.

Riley Harrigan tripled, scored one run, and had two RBI in the win, while Cylus Lantz singled, scored run, and drove in one run, Charan Venkataswamy singled, and scored a run, and Karson Sipley singled and scored two runs.

Weaver had the best turn on the mound for I-R FCU, allowing one run on two hits in 1 2/3 innings, while striking out three.

Graham Wanck doubled and singled, scored one run, and drove in one run to lead Bishop’s at the plate, while Parker Wanck singled, scored one run, and had three RBI, Shea Davidson singled, scored one run, and had two RBI, Connor Davidson and Alex McQuay each singled and scored a run.
