TIOGA CENTER — It was quite a weekend for Tioga wrestling. Six wrestlers in action in two different tournaments, and all six brought home hardware.
In Irving, Texas, 7th-grader Emily Sindoni, who wrestled at 99 pounds during the high school season, earned All-American status with a sixth-place finish at 119 pounds in the Schoolgirl Division at the Women’s Nationals.
The Tigers also had five wrestlers compete at the New York State Freestyle & Greco-Roman Championships.
Junior John Worthing finished first in his weight class in Greco-Roman, and was third in freestyle.
Sophomore Brady Worthing was second in freestyle, and fifth in Greco-Roman.
Eighth-grader Mason Welch was third in his division in Greco-Roman.
Seventh-grader Gianni Silvestri was second in freestyle, and third in Greco-Roman. He also qualified for the Schoolboy team.
Seventh-grader Caden Bellis finished first in his weight class in Greco-Roman, and was second in freestyle.
