IAC GIRLS GOLF: WAVERLY FINISHES OFF THIRD STRAIGHT UNBEATEN SEASON WITH WIN AT MORAVIA — WIN STREAK AT 98 (2018-05-16)

LOCKE, N.Y. — Waverly finished off its third consecutive unbeaten season with an 89-stroke victory over Moravia here Wednesday afternoon in IAC girls golf action at the Fillmore Glen Golf Club.

The Lady Wolverines, who end the regular season with a 31-0 record and a 98-match win streak, shot a four-player aggregate score of 165, while Moravia shot a 254.

Senior Capria Picco, who birdied the 351-yard, par-4 ninth hole, shot a 39 on the par-35 front nine, while junior Alex Tomasso, who birdied the 307yard, par-4 eighth hole, carded a 41.

Freshman Sidney Tomasso shot a 42, and sophomore Gianna Picco added a 43 for the Lady Wolverines, while freshman Gabby Picco had a non-scoring round of 53, and Madison Kittle tacked on a 53.

Linda Smith and Kylie VanSlyke each shot rounds of 59 to pace Moravia.

Waverly hosts the IAC Championships Friday at Tomasso’s Golf Course. Start tie is 9 a.m.

The Lady Wolverines will be in action Tuesday in the Section IV Championships at Soaring Eagles Golf Course.
