WAVERLY LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): PHILLIES CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON WITH WINS OVER GIANTS, CUBS (2018-06-07)

WAVERLY ó The Just in Time Roofing / SAL SQB #283 Phillies closed out the regular season with wins over the Tomís Hardware / S&J General Contractors Giants, and the PS Bank / C&N Bank Cubs here Saturday  afternoon in Waverly Little League Majors Division baseball action.

Phillies 7, Giants 4
The Phillies scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a tie game on its way to a 7-4 win over Giants Saturday afternoon.

The Giants scored three runs in the top of the third inning to tie the game at 4-4, setting the stage for the Phillies big inning.

Nehemiah Anthony singled twice and scored a run, and Jacob Benjamin singled twice to lead the Phillies at the plate, while Carter George singled and scored two runs, Kohen Hugo scored a pair of runs, and Charlie Larrabee and Bryce LaForrest each scored a run.

Jay Pipher doubled and singled and scored a run, and Aiden Doherty singled twice to pace the Giants at the plate, while Brian Hicks and Nathan DeLill each singled and scored a run, Kadyn Whitney added a single, and Trenton Sindoni scored a run.

Phillies 13, Cubs 2
The Phillies scored four runs in the home half of the fourth inning, and five runs in the fifth to blow the game wide open in a 13-2 win over Cubs.

Jacob Benjamin had there hits, including a home run, and scored two runs, and Alex Burgess homered and singled, and scored two runs to lead the Phillies at the plate, while Carter George doubled and singled and scored three runs, and Charlie Larrabee singled twice and scored three runs.

Nehemiah Anthony singled and scored twice in the win, and Kohen Hugo added a single

George and Hugo pitched for the Phillies. They combined to allow just five hits, and struck out 10.

Jake VanHouten tripled and doubled, and Ryan Bostwick doubled and singled and scored one run to lead the Cubs at the plate, while Roger Webster doubled, and Nathaniel Chapman singled.
