IAC BASEBALL: TWO WOLVERINES EARN FIRST-TEAM LARGE SCHOOL ALL-STAR HONORS; FOUR TABBED AS HONORABLE MENTION (2018-06-07)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — A pair of Waverly juniors — Colby Sindoni and Bradey Roney — earned IAC South Large School first-team all-star honors, and four of their teammates received honorable mention recognition in recent voting by the division’s coaches.

FIRST TEAM
Colby Sindoni, junior, Waverly:
A gifted outfielder with good range and a strong arm, Sindoni committed just two errors on the season, and had two outfield assists.

Sindoni hit a team-high .370 (27 hits in 73 at-bats) with three doubles, nine RBI, and registered team-highs with 14 stolen bases and 24 runs scored. He also walked 11 times and had a .476 on-base percentage.

Bradey Roney, junior, Waverly:
A hard-throwing righty, Roney posted a 3-3 record with one save, and a 2.65 ERA. He allowed 31 hits and 21 walks in 39 2/3 innings, while striking out 46. Opposing batters hit .208 against him.

Honorable Mention
Scott Woodring, sophomore, Waverly:
A good defender at first base, Woodring committed just one error at first base in 53 chances for a .981 fielding percentage.

Woodring hit .400 (14 hits in 35 ABs) in 13 games this season. He had eight RBI, and seven runs scored.

Jason Morales, senior, Waverly: An excellent catcher, Morales did not commit an error in 181 chances this season, and threw three runners out attempting to steal.

Morales hit .343 (23 hits in 67 ABs) with a team-high eight doubles, 18 RBI, and a team-high 24 runs scored. He drew 13 walks, and led the team with a .476 on-base percentage, and a .939 OPS.

Ty Croft, senior, Waverly:
A crafty right-hander, Croft posted a 2-4 record with two saves, and a 5.41 ERA. He struck out 42 in 33 2/3 innings.

Montana Davis, junior, Waverly: A versatile player, Davis hit .333 (22 hits in 66 ABs) with one double, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, and a team-high 14 stolen bases.
