NTL SOFTBALL: ATHENS' ADAMS NAMED "OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR" — THREE LADY WILDCATS, ONE LADY REDSKIN EARN ALL-STAR HONORS (2018-06-10)

THE VALLEY — Athens junior Emma Adams was named NTL “Offensive Player of the Year” in recent all-star voting by the league’s coaches, while two of her teammates and one Sayre player were named to the all-star teams.

Adams and freshman Emma Repsher garnered first-team honors, while Athens freshman Harley Sullivan and Sayre senior Alia Post were collected second-team recognition.

Troy’s Riley McClelland was voted “Player of the Year,” while Wyalusing’s Hailey Jayne was named “Pitcher of the Year,” and Wellsboro’s Sydney Tremper was tabbed the “Defensive Player of the Year.”

Adams, a tremendous defender in center field, hit .500 (28 of 56) this season with seven doubles, two triples, one home run, 27 runs scored,  and 16 stolen bases. She also walked 11 times and had an on-base percentage of .582.

FIRST TEAM
Emma Adams, junior, Athens:

Emma Repsher, freshman, Athens: A good defender at first base, Repsher hit .429 (16 hits in 42 ABs) with three doubles, one triple, 15 runs scored and 18 RBI.  She walked 15 times and had an on-base percentage of .580.

Also named to the first team were: Wellsboro’s Kerrah Clymer, Tremper, and Cathryn Brought; Troy’s Riley McClelland; Wyalusing’s Jayne, Melody Kneller, Sarah Bird, and Kristie Epler; Towanda’s Gabby Slater; NP-Liberty Savanah Doney and Brooke Harvey; NEB’s Lindsay Moore, and CV’s Madi Lee.

SECOND TEAM
Alia Post, senior, Sayre:
A versatile player, Post hit .314 (16 hits in 51 ABs) with six doubles, five RBI, 11 runs scores, and 12 stolen bases.

Harley Sullivan, freshman, Athens:
A good defender behind the plate, Sullivan hit .357 (20 hits in 56 ABs) with five doubles, three triples, 11 runs scored and 23 RBI. She also 12 times and had a .471 on-base percentage.

Also named to the first team were: Wellsboro’s Jena Boyce and Kailee Clymer; CV’s Julia Draper, Kamren Short, and Ashleigh Southard; NEB’s Jordan Shumway and Mackenzie Haight; Wyalusing’s Autumn Dietz; Towanda’s Madi Doss and Cearra McLinko; Williamson’s Sarah Learn, and Troy’s Vanessa Watson.
