SAYRE Tunkhannock scored 11 runs in the top of the fifth inning to rally for a 14-8 win over Sayre here Thursday evening in the consolation bracket semifinals of the District 15 Little League Minors Division baseball playoffs on Jeff Terpko Field at Riverfront Park.
Tunkhannock scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead, but Sayre took advantage of four walks, a hit batsman, and an error to scored three runs without a hit in the home half of the second inning to take a 4-3 lead.
Justin Koenig and Logan Zingeser each singled to help Sayre extend its lead to 6-3 after three innings.
Aidan Mislevy and Bode Lukasavage each singled and scored two runs, and Michael Serbra scored twice as Tunkhannock took advantage of five walks, a hit batsman and four Sayre errors to plate 11 runs on just two hits to take a 14-6 lead.
Koenig singled and scored two runs and Zingeser singled and scored a run to pace Sayre at the plate, while Maison Apgar singled, Cameron Ross scored a pair of runs, and Brendan Cooke, Jayden Kutt, Ty Owen, and Brady Flynn each scored one run.
Sayre finishes fourth in the District with the loss.
