|IAC GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: WAVERLY WINS DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (2018-10-09)

NEWARK VALLEY — Paced by a trio of top-10 showings, Waverly raced to the team title at the IAC South Division Championship here Tuesday. The Wolverines scored 45 points to edge out Notre Dame, which scored 50. Newark Valley was third with 56.
Junior Sheridan Talada led the Wolverines, placing third with a time of 21:32.7. Olivia Nittinger, a freshman, was fourth in 21:55.6 and junior Elizabeth Fritzen clocked 22:41.4 to finish seventh.
Finishing up the scoring for Waverly were Paige Ackley in 15th at 23:45.5 and Brandi Welch in 16th with a 23:53.7.
Also competing for the Wolverines were Reagan Vaughn, 22nd (25:00.2); Zayta Hall, 34th (29:38.6); and Rachel Ovedovitz, 38th (33:21.7).
Tioga had an incomplete team. Running for the Tigers were Cameron Mushock, 23rd (25:20.7); Mariah Nichols, 35th (28:42.6); and Nicole DeBoer, 42nd (38:36.8).
Notre Dame’s Alyssa Walker won the race with a time of 20:44.5 and Marissa Silba of Newark Valley was the runner-up in 21:17.4.
