NTL GIRLS SOCCER: ATHENS' HUTCHISON SCORES 100TH CAREER GOAL IN 12-0 WIN OVER NEB (24 PHOTOS) (2018-10-10)

ATHENS — Athens senior Rachel Hutchison scored five goals, including the 100th of her career, to lead Athens to a 12-0 win over Northeast Bradford here Wednesday evening on “Parents Night” in NTL girls soccer action at Alumni Stadium.

“Rachel has been a huge part of this program for four years,” said Athens coach Rich Pitts. “She is an amazing player and a more amazing young lady.  

“To get 100 goals in a career is icing on the cake for all she has done for Athens soccer,” he added.

Hutchison scored her first three goals, including her milestone goal, in the first half to help the Lady Wildcats to a 7-0 lead at the intermission.

Senior Ari Gambrell also netted a hat trick and had one assist in the win, while senior Brooke Warner had one goal and one assist, sophomore Hannah Blackman, senior Emma Adams, and junior Abby Sindoni each had one goal. Bailey Dakos and Haley Chambers were each credited with an assist.

Hutchison, who also had two assists, now has 102 goals, and trails only Kirsten Colegrove, who had 104 goals, on the school’s all-time goal-scoring list.

Athens had a 35-6 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.

Madisyn Joslyn had six saves in net for the Lady Wildcats.

Athens, now 11-1, returns to action Saturday afternoon at Hershey.
