IAC GIRLS BOWLING: WAVERLY SWEEPS EDISON — IMPROVES TO 16-0 (2018-12-04)

ELMIRA — Junior Mackenzie Plouse and 8th-grader Victoria Houseknecht led Waverly to its fourth consecutive sweep to open the season, this time besting Thomas A. Edison here Tuesday afternoon in IAC girls bowling action at Rossi Lanes.

The Lady Wolverines, now 16-0, won the first game 675-499, then followed it up with wins of 783-648, and 675-565 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,132 to 1,712.

Plouse rolled a 493 and Victoria Houseknecht shot a 482, including a 205, to pace Waverly, and junior Morgan Lee had a 405.

Senior Sarah Uhl rolled a 364 for the Lady Wolverines, while senior Kari VanAllen added a 360, and 7th-grader Rachel Houseknecht chipped in with a 351.

Elizabeth Kelly led Edison with a 418 series.

Waverly returns to action Friday at Watkins Glen.
