TOWANDA - Senior Joe Stermer logged Sayre's only win, while senior Kayla Kittle and junior Jillian Shay each recorded three second-place finishes in a tri-meet here Thursday against Danville and Towanda in boys and girls swimming action.

GIRLS

Danville piled up 69 points to earn a pair of win, while the Sayre girls had 21 points and Towanda had just 12.

Kittle finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 25.97 seconds, and senior Claire Shaffer was third in a season-best time of 26.25 seconds.

Shay finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a season-best time of 1:24.2.

Kittle and Shay teamed with junior Kayla Hughey and Shaffer to finish second in the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:53.22. The same foursome finished third in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a season-best time of 4:19.41.

Senior Mackenzie Wilkerson finished second in the 1-meter diving competition with 139.8 points.

Hughey finished third in the 200-yard freestyle in a personal-best tie of 2:09.23, and senior Emily Lattimer finished third in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:25.17.

Shaffer finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:06.24, and Jordyn Maxim was sixth in a personal-best time of 1:15.92.

Senior Jasmine Fairlie finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:29.05.

BOYS
Danville amassed 66 points in the meet to earn a pair of wins, while Towanda had 21 points, and Sayre, swimming without senior standout Josh McClelland, had 11 points.

Stermer won the 1-meter diving competition with 179.7 points. He finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a season-best time of 1:16.27

Senior Matt Beers finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 58.98 seconds. He finished third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.39 seconds.

Sayre returns to action Friday when it hosts Towanda.
