Breanna Gambrell, a freshman on the Penn State women's track & field team, recorded a pair of third-place finishes, and Sayre grad
Elyse Skerpon, a senior, had a sixth-place finish at the Nittany Lion Challenge here inside the Multi-Sport Indoor Facility on Jan. 12.
Gambrell placed third in the long jump at 19-feet, 7 3/4-inches (5.99 meters). She also finished third in the triple jump at 38-feet, 9 3/4-inches (11.83 meters).
She finished 11th in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.74 seconds
Skerpon finished sixth in the 400-yard dash in 58.16 seconds
On Saturday, Penn State competed at the Simmons-Harvey Big Ten Invite at the U-M Indoor Track Building on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Gambrell finished eighth in the long jump at 18-feet, 1/2-inch. She was 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 35-feet, 5-inches.
Skerpon finished 12th in the 600-meter run in 1:38.67
Penn State returns to action Jan. 25-26 when it hosts the National Open.
