IAC BOWLING: POND, SHERMANS LEAD TIOGA BOYS TO SWEEP OF NOTRE DAME; LADY TIGERS SWEPT (2019-01-25)

WAVERLY - The Tioga boys used a balanced line-up, including 600 series by sophomore Kolton Pond, and seniors Jason Sherman and Eric Sherman, to sweep Notre Dame in IAC bowling action here Friday afternoon at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Lady Tigers were swept.

BOYS
Tioga 4, Notre Dame 0

Tioga won all three games by at least 162 pins for a total-pinfall victory of 3098 to 2,531 in its sweep of Notre Dame.

Pond banged out a 659 series on games of 192, 236, and 231, while Jason Sherman rolled a 633 on games of 238, 205, and 190, and Eric Sherman had a 620 series on games of 200, 213, and 207.

Senior Mason Trollman shot a 575 series, including a 246 in the first game, for the Tigers, while senior A.J. Middendorf added a 569, including games of 210 and 220, and freshman Dylan Slater tacked on a 530.

GIRLS
Notre Dame 4, Tioga 0

Wellsburg's Rachelle Williams shot a match-high 566 series to lead Notre Dame to a sweep of Tioga Friday afternoon.

The Lady Crusaders won the first game 733-665, then followed it up with wins of 790-669 and 74-610 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,267 to 1,944.

Junior Mackenzie Macumber led Tioga with a 475 series, including a 207 high game, while senior Mackenzie Robinson had a 461, and junior Elston Bailey had a 385.

Sophomore Destini Sweet shot a 317 for the Lady Tigers, while sophomore Mille Grantham added a 303, and senior SueAnn Grantham tacked on a 256.

Sophomore Mary Taylor rolled a 310 in reserve for Tioga.

The Tigers close out the regular season Tuesday against Thomas A. Edison at Rossi Lanes.
