WOMEN'S COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: ATHENS GRAD GAMBRELL SETS PERSONAL-BEST MARKS IN LONG, TRIPLE JUMPS AT PENN STATE NATIONAL OPEN (2019-01-27)

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Athens grad Breana Gambrell, a freshman on the Penn State women's track & field team, recorded first- and third-place finishes this weekend at the Penn State National Open Saturday at the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.

Gambrell won the women's long jump with a personal-best distance of 19-feet, 11 1/2-inches (6.08 meters).

Gambrell also set a personal-best mark in the triple jumps with a mark of 39-feet, 9 3/4-inches (12.13 meters) to finish third.

 She was also 24th in the 60-meter dash in 7.76 seconds

The Nittany Lions remain home for the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup on Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Multi-Sport Facility. Action starts at 11 a.m.
