ATHENS - Athens split a pair of decisions recently, rallying past Troy Friday evening, then falling at Windsor Monday in junior varsity girls basketball action.

Windsor 41, Athens 19
At Windsor, Windsor raced out to an early lead, and cruised to a 41-19 win over Athens Monday evening in non-league girls basketball action.

Windsor took control early with a 13-4 first-quarter run, then stretched the lead to 21-9 at the half, and 29-13 entering the final eight minutes.

Kassidy Peterson led Athens with five points, five rebounds, and four steals, while Emily Pennison had four points, five rebounds, and three steals, Joselyn Murray added four points, Olivia Bartlow grabbed six rebounds and blocked one shot, and Sam Markle pulled down six boards.

Athens committed 46 turnovers in the loss.

FRIDAY
Athens 23, Troy 15
At Troy, Athens closed the game with a 13-3 run in the fourth quarter to rally for a 23-15 win over Troy Friday evening.

Emily Pennison canned a 3-pointer to help Athens to a 7-2 lead after the first eight minutes.

Troy outscored Athens 10-3 over the next two quarters to take a 12-10 lead in the final eight minutes.

In the fourth quarter, Olivia Bartlow scored six points, Kassidy Peterson added four points, and Pennison canned a 3-pointer to fuel the decisive fourth-quarter run.

Bartlow led Athens with 10 points, while Pennison added six points, and Peterson chipped in with four points.

Athens closes out the regular season Wednesday when it hosts Troy.
