YOUTH WRESTLING: ATHENS 3RD-GRADER KENDALL GALASSO PUNCHES TICKET TO STATES (2019-02-17)

TUNKHANNOCK - East Smithfield's Kendall Galasso won the 10U 60-pound division at the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Qualifier here last Sunday to punch her ticket to States.

In the semifinals, Galasso pinned Taryn Houser of Wyalusing in 36 seconds - avenging a loss from the previous weekend.

In the finals, Galasso forged a 17-7 major decision over Madison Healey of Wyoming Valley.

Galasso, a 3rd-grader at Athens, will compete at the Pennsylvania State Championships in Pittsburgh  on March 15-16.
