DALLAS, Pa. - Sayre grad Paige Wampole, a junior on the Misericordia women's basketball team, saw her season come to an end with a loss in the ECAC semifinals for second straight year as the Lady Cougars dropped a 69-59 decision to New York University.

Wampole had four points and six rebounds in the loss that ended Misericordia's winningest season in school history at 23-6.

In the semifinals, Wampole had eight points and 14 rebounds, including six offensive boards, in a 78-64 win over Widener. She also had three assists, two steals, and one blocked shot.

On the season, Wampole, who started all 29 games led the team with 48 blocked shots and a 47.7 shooting percentage from the field.

Wampole was second on the team with 8.1 rebounds, including a team-high 3.0 offensive caroms, and fourth on the team at 8 points per game. She also had 34 assists and 27 steals.

She had eight double-doubles on the season.
