HERSHEY - Athens senior David Galasso takes his second shot at a state medal, while freshman Gavin Bradley vies for a medal in a loaded 106-pound weight class beginning Thursday morning at the PIAA Class AA wrestling championships here at the Giant Center.

At 170 pounds, Galasso, the Northeast Region champion, earned one of the top four seeds in the weight class, and will face the winner of the match between Southeast Region fourth-place finisher Damon Waltenbaugh (30-9), a junior from Faith Christian, and Southwest Region sixth-place finisher Myles Baney (32-9), a sophomore from Huntingdon Area.

The other top seed on the bottom of the bracket is Southeast Region champ Carl Harris (23-2), a senior from Littlestown.

On the top of the bracket is two-time defending champion senior Jared McGill (36-0) of Chestnut Ridge. The other top seed is Greeneville senior Brady Gentile (41-3), the Northwest Region champion.

At 106 pounds, Bradley, the Northeast Region runner-up, takes on Glendale freshman Suds Dubler (39-2), the third-place finisher from the Southwest Region, in the opening round.

The winner advances to take on one of the four top seeds in the weight class, Southeast Region champion Levi Haines (37-0), a freshman from Biglerville.

At the top of the bracket, Northwest Region champion sophomore Gary Steen (35-1) of Reynolds.

The top seeds on the other side of the bracket are Northeast Region champ Troy sophomore Sheldon Seymour (32-0) and Southwest Region champion Joey Fischer (35-0), a sophomore from South Park.

The preliminary rounds begin at 9 a.m. Thursday.
