COLLEGE BASEBALL: ATHENS GRAD FORBES DOMINANT IN LAST TWO OUTINGS IN LATE RELIEF FOR WEST CHESTER (2019-03-16)

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Athens grad Tyler Forbes, a redshirt junior on the West Chester baseball team, has been dominant in his last two late-inning relief appearances, including two shutout innings against the defending Division II national champions.

On Wednesday, Forbes was ready to go in a save situation with West Chester leading reigning D-II champs Augustana 6-5 after seven innings, but the Golden Rams scored six runs in the top of the eighth inning in a 17-5 win.

Forbes tossed two perfect innings in relief, with three strikeouts.

On Monday, Forbes struck out the side, while allowing one hit and one walk in a scoreless inning of relief in an 8-2 win over Minnesota-Duluth.

In between, Forbes pinch-hit in a 7-2 loss to Wayne State. He remained in the game as designated hitter and went 0-for-2.

On the season, Forbes is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. He has allowed two hits and and walked two, while striking out eight.
