COLLEGE BASEBALL: SAYRE GRAD WHEELER RECORDS FIRST COLLEGIATE HIT, STOLEN BASE AT HOOD COLLEGE (2019-03-27)

FREDERICK, Md. - Sayre grad Sam Wheeler, a freshman on the Hood College baseball team, recorded his first collegiate hit Saturday's in the Blazers' 3-2 win over Messiah College.

Wheeler, who played second base, singled in two at-bats, scored one run, and notched the first stolen base of his career.

Wheeler made his first carer start Saturday, also at second base, and was 0-for-3 with a walk.

On the season, Wheeler is hitting .111 (1 hit in 9 ABs) with one run scored, one RBI, and one stolen base.

Hood College, now 12-5, hosts McDaniel College Wednesday.
