THE VALLEY - A pair of big games on the softball diamond today "” Notre Dame at Waverly, and Athens at Wyalusing - highlights a docket of action dominated by baseball and softball.

BASEBALL
Notre Dame (3-2 overall, 3-3 IAC Div. 3) at Waverly (5-3, 4-2), 4:30 p.m.:
The Wolverines are coming off a 6-0 win over Trumansburg Tuesday, while the Crusaders dropped a 3-1 decision to Newark Valley Friday.

Earlier this season, Notre Dame edged Waverly, 8-7.

Sayre (2-5, 2-2 NTL Small) at NEB (2-5, 1-4), 4:30 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a pair of losses Saturday - to Tioga and Waverly, while the Panthers dropped a 10-2 decision at Canton Tuesday.

Sayre leads the other four teams in the NTL Small School Division by two games in the loss column.

Athens (7-0, 5-0 NTL Large) at Wyalusing (4-4, 3-3), 4:30 p.m.: The Wildcats are coming off an 11-7 win at Wellsboro Tuesday, while the Rams dropped a 4-0 decision at Troy.

Athens lead Troy by one game in the loss column in the NTL Large School Division.

SOFTBALL
Notre Dame (6-1) at Waverly (9-1), 4:30 p.m.:
The Lady Wolverines are coming off a 2-1 eight-inning win over Valley rival Athens Saturday, while the Lady Crusaders notched a pair of wins Saturday - topping Jordan Elbridge, 9-0, and New York Mills, 14-0.

In their first meeting, Waverly won at Notre Dame, 8-1.

Athens (4-1, 4-0 NTL Large) at Wyalusing (5-1, 5-0), 4:30 p.m.: The Lady Wildcats are coming off a 2-1 eight-inning loss at Waverly Saturday, while the Lady Rams outlasted Troy, 16-9 Tuesday.

Wyalusing and Athens are both unbeaten in NTL Large School Division play, while Wellsboro has one loss.

Sayre (0-5) at NEB (5-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Lady Redskis are coming off a 15-0 loss to Elk Lake on April 10, while the Lady Panthers throttled Canton, 11-1.
