ATHENS — C&N Bank scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 6-3 win over the Firemen here Friday night in Athens Little League Majors Division baseball action.
Gordon Weaver stroked a two-run single and Nick Grazul added an RBI single in the first inning to help C&N Bank to the early lead.
The Firemen scored a run on an error in the top of the second inning, but C&N Bank answered in the third inning with a solo home run by Troy Rosenbloom and an RBI double by Rodney Chapman to make it 5-1.
Grazul singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in one run, and Eli Chapman singled twice and scored one run to pace C&N Bank’s eight-hit attack, while Rosenbloom homered, scored three runs, and drove in one run.
Weaver singled and drove in two runs in the win, and Alex Thompson and Rodney Chapman each singled and drove in one run.
Rosenbloom earned the win on the mound for C&N Bank, allowing two runs — none earned — on two hits, while striking out eight and walking three. Grazul closed the game, allowing one run on two hits, with three strikeouts and one walk.
Eli Hicks tripled and doubled, scored two runs, and drove in one run to pace the Firemen’s four-hit attack, while Brady Darrow doubled and scored one run, and Karson Sipley added a single.
Hicks had the best turn on the mound for the Firemen, allowing one run on one hit, with four strikeouts and no walks in two innings of relief.
