IAC GIRLS SOCCER: BIG FIRST HALF PROPELS SVEC TO 8-0 WIN OVER MORAVIA (18 PHOTOS) (2017-09-11)

CANDOR — SVEC unleashed a barrage of shots-on-goal in first half that produced six goals as part of an 8-0 win over Moravia here Monday afternoon in IAC crossover girls soccer action.

Senior Mackenzie Grube scored two goals and dished out two assists for the Lady Eagles, while sophomore Ava Bruehwiler and junior Leah O’Connell each scored a pair goals in the win.

SVEC started quick with a pair of goals by O’Connell, sandwiched around a Grube tally, in less than 4 1/2 minutes to take a 3-0 lead.

Junior Hannah Harmon scored midway through the first half to make it 4-0, then junior Searra Allen and Bruehwiler added goals to make it 6-0 at the halftime intermission.

SVEC had a 17-7 advantage in shots-on-goal in the first half.

Bruehwiler and Grube scored in the first eight minutes of the second half to provide the final margin.

SVEC had a 23-12 edge in shots for the contest and a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior Jeanetta Hays and sophomore Savanna Tuttle each recorded three saves in net for the Lady Eagles.

SVEC, now 3-2, hosts O-M in a key IAC South Small School match-up Wednesday at Candor H.S.
