THE VALLEY Just a pair of varsity events today and both are on the road, with the Athens girls trip to Lansing earning top billing for the day.

There are a pair of JV football games at home this morning, as well as the Tioga JV volleyball tournament.

GIRLS SOCCER
Athens (8-1-2) at Lansing (7-2-1), 7 p.m.:
The Lady Wildcats are coming off an 11-0 win over Towanda Tuesday, while the state-ranked Lady Bobcats dropped a 4-0 decision to unbeaten Trumansburg (8-0-3 and ranked 13th in Class C).

Athens has won four in a row since a 1-1 tie with Troy, and has scored 40 goals in those four contests.

Lansing is ranked 16th in Class C.

BOYS SOCCER
Sayre (6-8) at Towanda (0-12), 6 p.m.:
The Redskins are coming off a 14-0 loss on their home field to Wellsboro Wednesday, while Towanda dropped a 1-0 decision to Northern Potter Thursday.

In their first meeting, Sayre topped Towanda, 6-1.

JV VOLLEYBALL
Tioga HOSTS Tioga JV Tournament, 8:30 a.m.:
Tioga hosts a 10-team tourney today comprised mainly of IAC teams, but with Owego and Chenango Valley participating as well.

Tioga is in Pool A with Owego, S-VE, Southern Cayuga, and Edison. Pool B is comprised of Union Springs, Candor, Newfield, Dryden, and Chenango Valley.

Tioga opens play against Owego at 8:30 a.m., then plays S-VE at approximately 10 a.m.
