TIOGA CENTER — Tioga used a balanced offensive attack to pull away in a 68-46 win over Notre Dame here Tuesday night in IAC South boys basketball action.
Junior Pierce Hendershot knocked down a 3-pointer and scored five points in the first quarter, while seniors Nick Klossner, and Scott Siberski added four points apiece to help Tioga to a 15-10 lead.
Senior DeMario Chambers scored seven points in the second quarter, and Hendershot buried a 3-pointer as the Tigers stretched their lead to 30-20.
Ulster’s Gary Raupers scored eight points, while Dan Stearns and Ben Cook added six points apiece to account for Notre Dame’s 20 first-half points.
Chambers and Siberski scored four points apiece in the third quarter, and junior Lucas Klossner canned a 3-pointer to help Tioga to a 44-30 lead entering the final eight minutes.
The Tigers put the game away in the fourth quarter with a 24-16 spurt. Senior Connor Hutchinson scored seven points to fuel the rally, while Nick Klossner and Pierce Hendershot added four points apiece, and sophomore Samy Taylor drilled a 3-pointer.
Chambers netted 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Tioga, while Nick Klossner had 12 points, five assists, and three rebounds, and Hendershot added 12 points, including a trio of 3-pointers,
Hutchinson scored 11 points. hauled down 15 rebounds, and dished out three assists in the win, while Siberski added eight points and four rebounds, and Taylor chipped in with four assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
Raupers led Notre Dame with 19 points, including three 3-pointers and Cook added eight points.
Tioga, now 8-3, returns to action Friday at Edison.
