IAC GIRLS GOLF: TOMASSO LEADS WAVERLY IN WINS OVER ELMIRA, CORNING, LANSING — WIN STREAK AT 97 (2018-05-14)

ITHACA — Junior Alex Tomasso shot a 38 to lead Waverly to wins over Elmira, Corning, and Lansing here Friday afternoon in IAC girls golf action at the Ithaca Country Club.

Waverly, now 30-0 and winners of 97 consecutive matches, shot a four-player aggregate score of 169, well ahead of Elmira, which carded a 232, Corning, which tallied 254, and Lansing, which amassed 273 strokes.

Tomasso, who was 2-over par on the par-36 front nine, recorded birdies on the 455-yard, par-5 third hole, and the 345-yard, par-4 ninth hole.

Senior Capria Picco shot a 40 for the Lady Wolverines,while freshman Sidney Tomasso, who birdied the par-3 second and seventh holes, carded a 43, and freshman Gabby Picco added a 48.

Senior Madison Kittle and sophomore Gianna Picco tacked on non-scoring rounds of 50 and 52, respectively.

Alex Tursic shot 49 to lead Elmira, while Olivia Colonna shot a 58 to lead Corning, and Hannah Iaccoa paced Lansing with a 56.

(NOTE: Waverly went 3-0 at Watkins Glen Friday, but results were not reported to Valley Sports Report.)

The Lady Wolverines close out the regular season Wednesday on Moravia’s home course — Fillmore Glen in Loche, N.Y.

Waverly hosts the IAC Championships at Tomasso’s Golf Course Friday at 9 a.m.
