NICHOLS  Waverly registered a pair of wins here Tuesday evening to finish pool play at 3-0 at the Nichols-Tioga 8U Baseball Tournament.

Waverly rolled over Sayre 15-3, and topped Elmira 9-3.

Waverly 15, Sayre 3
Waverly built an early 7-0 lead and cruised to a 15-3 five-inning win over Sayre Tuesday in pool play action.

Waverly scored five runs in the second inning to take a 6-0 lead, then tacked on another run in the third to stretch the lead to 7-0, before Sayre got on the board in the home half of the inning.

Waverly scored five more runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 12-1.

Rhylee Stotler had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and scored two runs, and Jack Pipher rapped out a pair of doubles and scored twice to pace Waverly at the plate, while Axel Murray doubled and singled and scored a run, and Brayden Bowman singled and scored three runs.

Brody Lambert singled and scored two runs in the win, while Colin Wheeler singled and scored a run, Griffin Walter added a double, Blake Draper scored three runs, and Cooper Hugo scored a run.

Isaac Roy singled and scored two runs to lead Sayre at the plate, while Ahren McCarthy singled and scored a run, and Blake Zingerser added a single.

Waverly 9, Elmira 3

Waverly led 9-0 after three innings and coasted to a 9-3 win over Elmira in the final game of pool play.

Waverly scored once in the bottom of the first inning, and scored four runs in the second and third innings to take a commanding lead.

Walter had three hits, including a double, and scored one run, and Lambert singled twice and scored two runs to pace Waverly at the plate.

Wheeler, Hugo and Hayden Roskow each singled and scored one run in the win, and Draper singled and scored two runs, Bowman singled and scored a run, and Pipher added a single.
